Pet Supplies Plus is a leading pet retailer in the United States. With over 500 locations nationwide, the Pet Supplies Plus website supports local shopping for all locations. Additionally, Wag N’ Wash, a Colorado-based pet retailer, was also supported during my time with Pet Supplies Plus.

Content Shop Strategy + Design Work

Problem

With Search being the number one way for customers (neighbors) to shop, this led me to believe the category navigation and lack of user journeys were to blame. When considering ways to create shopping experiences across the PSP website, I looked to competitors to gain insight to industry trends. I created a multi-layered eCommerce shop strategy for PSP which led to the creation of over 15 shops based on ongoing consumer trends, holidays, and other seasonal sales. Additionally, I began to take on more web-based graphic design work for the brand and continue to do so.

Strategy

Create content shops featuring product navigational elements and easy-shopping experiences for neighbors based on seasonal trends, evergreen shopping needs, and merchandise plans.

Sample: Reptile Shop

The Reptile Shop is an evergreen species shop for neighbors shopping for basic reptile supplies. PSP wanted to link educational content without disrupting the online shopping experience, so these elements were included throughout the webpage. The image below is a composite of the live webpage, which includes room for monthly promotional graphics and additional content needs.

Each shop, as well as the homepage, needed pet and category navigational assets. I introduced this form of shopping navigation on our shops, which we later integrated into the homepage.

Brand Page Partnership + Design Work

Problem

PSP partner brands are able to purchase a unique brand page throughout the year. The eCommerce team is responsible for the creation and management of these brand pages. The issue was that these brand pages were not of a unique design and did not showcase the pet partner brands in a way that would be beneficial for customers.

Strategy

Create a base wireframe design with room for brand differentiators, product education, and brand showcasing. Create a user-centric design with the perspective of the PSP neighbor shopping experience in-mind.
